What is UMM?

What exactly is Uni Maths Mastery?

UMM is a structured online workshop service for UP first-year STEM students. We run live 60-minute sessions for WTW 114, WTW 124, WTW 158, WTW 164, STK 110 and WST 111 — delivered by postgraduate facilitators, maximum 20 students per session, every Tuesday and Thursday evening.

Is this a tutoring service?

No. Tutoring is one student, one tutor, one problem. UMM is expert-led group facilitation following a fixed four-phase structure — Ambush, Anatomy, Drill, Close. Sessions are recorded, attendance is tracked, and parents receive an AI-generated summary within 30 minutes of every session. The structure is the product.

Who is this for?

UP first-year students in the six modules listed above. Parents of those students. Postgraduate students who want to facilitate. Anyone with a network of UP STEM students who wants to earn by referring. Senior undergraduates who want a professional campus role. Each path has its own page — tap the relevant option above.

When do sessions start?

Tuesday 7 April 2026. Sessions run every Tuesday and Thursday at 19:00. The first session is free — no payment required until you decide UMM is worth it.

How much does it cost?

R800 per month covers 8 sessions — R100 per session. That is the same rate for every session across the month. Re-registering a failed module costs R7,500+. One month of UMM is approximately 11% of what failure costs.
